Cognitive Enhancement

" My kid already does this because I stimulate him/her a lot!"“Chromosomes Do Not Have the Last Word” 🤍

🌎 The Feuerstein Method takes its name from the Israeli psychologist and educator Reuven Feuerstein, who was born in Romania. It is used in over 40 countries worldwide and across various contexts. worldwide and in a variety of contexts.

The international application of the Method has demonstrated that, at any age, individuals can change and enhance their cognitive abilities, thereby improving their interaction with the environment. The Feuerstein Method teaches the skill of learning how to learn. 🔺Education and social interaction play a decisive role in building cognitive skills and fostering individual development.

Structural Cognitive Modifiability (SCM) and Mediated Learning Experience (MLE) are the theories developed by Professor Reuven Feuerstein that underpin his method.

Feuerstein demonstrated that intelligence, a plastic and malleable entity over time, can be developed, enhanced, and trained much like strengthening muscles. He showed that, when appropriately stimulated, the brain can change its structure and functions—a concept supported by neurophysiology under the term “brain plasticity.” Therefore, every individual is modifiable when adequately mediated. Intelligence is not something we are born with—it is something we can develop.

👉🏻Neither autism, aging, ADHD, brain injuries, genetic conditions, nor other factors can prevent individuals from increasing their intelligence and improving their ability to learn.

Who is the Feuerstein Method for? ✅Everyone! Originally designed to develop the intelligence of children with learning difficulties, intellectual disabilities, or Trisomy 21 (Down syndrome), the method is now applied to a wide range of groups. It benefits students, adults (such as workers adapting to new technologies), managers undergoing training, and even elderly individuals with early stages of neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s or Parkinson’s.

The Feuerstein Method, through its Instrumental Enrichment Program (PAS), focuses on strategies performance rather than content or performance outcomes. It is useful in any situation where improved performance is required.

✅The Feuerstein Method promotes and develops skills in the following areas: ▫️• Concentration and attention ▫️• Learning processes ▫️• Reading and writing ▫️• Social interaction and skills ▫️• Logic and reasoning ▫️• Organization ▫️• Memory ▫️• Goal-setting and planning ▫️• Executive function skills ▫️• Impulsivity control ▫️• Leadership abilities ▫️• Aging processes ▫️• And more

What does the Feuerstein Method involve in practice? 🟢A series of paper-and-pencil exercises that do not directly reference disciplinary content but allow the mediator to stimulate metacognitive reflection. Metacognition is the ability to reflect on one’s own cognitive processes and be aware of them. In the educational relationship, the mediator does not provide answers but guides and directs the individual toward analyzing the thinking processes involved in problem-solving. This metacognitive awareness of one’s learning methods enables the transfer of acquired skills to other situations, fostering autonomous thinking.

👉🏻How does it work? Sessions are held at least twice a week, depending on individual needs.

“The secret of success is not teaching content, but imparting strategies for learning and thinking.” Professor Reuven Feuerstein was the founder and president of the Feuerstein Institute. In 1992, he was awarded the Israel Prize for Social Sciences, and in 2012, he was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize..
